Charu Nivedita is a post-modern, transgressive writer and novelist in Tamil. He is known for his racy style of writing and he is the first to write Auto-fiction in India. Zero Degree, Marginal Man and Morgue Keeper are some of his notable works. He was selected as one of the Top Ten Indians of the Decade 2001-2010 by The Economic Times. He is highly inspired by Andal (Hindu Poet-Saint) and Marquis de Sade (a French nobleman). Apart from writing, he is a social activist too.
